Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to anyone who engages Carla Royal for coaching services or uses materials she provides.

Scope of Services

Carla Royal provides private coaching. Coaching is not therapy, diagnosis, or treatment of any physical or mental health condition, and it is not financial, legal, or medical advice.

Carla is a Certified Integral Master Coach™. She previously held a professional counseling license in North Carolina and does not currently practice as a licensed counselor. Coaching conversations, intensives, written material, and podcast episodes are not clinical services and should not be relied on as a substitute for care from a licensed professional.

Clients experiencing a mental health crisis, medical emergency, or condition requiring clinical treatment should seek appropriate professional care.

Confidentiality

Engagements are confidential. Carla does not disclose the identity of clients or the content of the work without the client's written permission, except where disclosure is required by law.

Coaching does not carry the same legal privilege as licensed clinical treatment. Clients should be aware of that distinction.

Fees, Scheduling, and Cancellation

Fees are due on the dates set out in the individual engagement agreement, in immediately available funds.

Refunds, scheduling, and cancellation terms are set out in that agreement, and they vary by the type of engagement.

Where these terms conflict with a signed engagement agreement, the engagement agreement governs.

Recording and Testimonials

Sessions are not recorded unless the client agrees in advance. Where a session is recorded, the recording is used only for the purposes agreed at the time.

Carla does not use client recordings, session content, names, or identifying details in marketing, publication, or promotional material without the client's separate written permission.

Where a client chooses to provide a testimonial, they grant Carla permission to use it in her materials. That permission may be withdrawn in writing, and Carla will remove the testimonial from material she controls within a reasonable period.

Podcast participation is covered by a separate release provided before recording.

Intellectual Property

Written materials, frameworks, recordings, and resources Carla provides remain her property. Clients may use them for their own purposes.

They may not be reproduced, distributed, translated, or used to create derivative works without written permission.

Client Responsibility

Coaching supports the client's own thinking, judgment, and decision-making. Carla does not direct, manage, or make decisions on a client's behalf.

Decisions taken during or after an engagement, and their outcomes, are the client's own. Results depend on the individual, their situation, and what they choose to do.

Where clients share their experience of the work, those accounts reflect their own circumstances. No particular outcome is promised or implied.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carla Royal's liability arising out of or relating to the services is limited to the fees paid by the client for the services giving rise to the claim.

Carla is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost profits or business opportunity.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Changes

These terms may be updated. The version in effect at the time of engagement applies to that engagement.
